SPECIAL GUESTS – BRIAN CRIGHTON, GORDAN MAY AND ERIC PATTERSON!
This one-day show will feature more special guests than ever before. First up will be Rotary Norton guru, ex-team manager and the man that bought Norton back to the top of the podium in the 80’s and 90’s, Brian Crighton. Alongside his stage talks, Crighton will be bringing his all-new rotary race bike, the CR700 to the show! This stunning thoroughbred will be fired into life in the live start-up arena.
Our second star will be Gordon May, an author and a man who is no stranger to epic touring on classic machines. Most famed for his ‘Overland to India’ trip in 1988, he travelled 7000kms on his Royal Enfield Bullet, two-up, loaded, and the bike never missed a beat! May will be on stage talking tales of his trips across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.
Last but not least, Kempton Park Autojumble founder, AMA speed record holder and all-round die-hard classic bike fan Eric Patterson will take to the stage! Eric will be talking about his exploits on the Bonneville Salt flats as he chased down land speed records on his Brough Superior. One of the fastest men on the planet in his day, Patterson will no doubt wow the crowds with his tales of daring do. It’s not just about pinning the throttle you know…
The Kempton Park Classic Bike Show and Autojumble sponsored by Old Bike Mart will also have a bevy of awards to hand out, as the judges check over all the classic bikes at the show to find the elusive recipient of the ‘Best in Show’, plus much more!
ABOUT THE SHOW!
Bringing together a huge selection of jumble stalls and trade stands, the Kempton Park Classic Bike Show and Autojumble is the place to bag a bargain and see a display of beautiful classics.
Visitors will see a range of classic and rare bikes from every era, thanks to the unique club stands and remarkable private entries. The show is a great advertisement for the clubs and a chance for private owners to show off their classic two-wheeled machines. Prizes are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Club Stands and Best in Show. All clubs at the show receive a bottle of wine per bike on display, plus private entries and clubs are all nominated for the chance to win an award for their motorcycle. The awards ceremony takes place at 3pm in the show hall. All the motorcycle owners and clubs put a huge effort into their bike displays, which is very much appreciated.
Running alongside the show, the large autojumble brings together a huge selection of stalls and trade stands offering bargains on all sorts of motorcycle items and project bikes. The large jumble is regularly attended by more than 250 stallholders selling all sorts of related items including motorcycles, spares, parts, magazines, clothing and memorabilia. A very popular part of the show, the bike mart is a perfect opportunity to bring your bike to sell. The cost of putting your bike in the bike mart is £10 plus the cost of your entry ticket.
Not only is it a fantastic event to find yourself a bargain, but with its friendly atmosphere, it’s an ideal meeting place and social gathering for everyone in the motorcycling fraternity. And it’s all supported by Ace Cafe London and the London Motorcycle Museum.
Boasting its own train station, and being placed close to the M25, Kempton Park Racecourse is perfectly located whether you’re travelling by bike, car or rail. And did we mention there’s free parking too?
